Program Information

Welcome to the A-State Dual Enrollment/Concurrent Admission Application

The A-State Dual Enrollment/Concurrent Program is a Partnership between the university and high schools to offer qualified high school students the opportunity to satisfy both high school and university credit requirements simultaneously through specific concurrent credit courses. This application is for current high school students enrolled at partner high schools.

  • Improving high school academics, high school graduation rates, college enrollment, college success, and college completion rates.
  • Getting college credit early at little to no cost.
  • Save money on tuition, books, materials, and other fees.

Program DETAILS

To join the Dual Enrollment Program at ASU-GSI, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of the eighth grade and current enrollment in an accredited public or private secondary school or homeschool.
  • Enrollment in freshman or sophomore-level courses approved by ASU-GSI and listed in the ASU-GSI Catalog.
  • Fulfillment of all course prerequisite requirements as specified in the ASU-GSI online catalog.
  • Approval of course selection and enrollment hours by the student’s counselor, principal, or designated high school representative.
  • Submission of a signed Dual Enrollment Policy/Parent Consent Form, indicating the student’s good standing and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Counsellor Recommendation Letter
  • English and Math Transcripts from the year before.
  • QID
  • Passport

Students must meet the following minimum test scores for enrollment in general education courses:

  • Math: ACT 19 or Next Generation Accuplacer 250 (Math QAS)
  • English & Literature: ACT 19 or Next Generation Accuplacer 253 (Reading) and 5 (WritePlacer) or 260 (Writing)

Additional prerequisites or course sequences may apply to specific classes.

The tuition rate for ASU-GSI dual enrollment courses is $500 per course, provided the course is part of the General Education curriculum or a non-General Education course included in the ASU-GSI Academic Catalog.

Payments can be made in person on campus, by phone, or online through our payment portal here.

All financial obligations must be settled in full before grades, transcripts, or other official records will be released. If a student owes a balance from a previous semester, they will not be allowed to register for subsequent semesters until the balance is paid in full.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM BENEFITS

 

  • Up to Two(2) Courses Per Semester.
  • Each Course is Three(3) Credits.
  • Up to Six(6) Credits Per Semester.
  • Students in a US University is required to finish 120 Credits to get a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Students can finish up to 48 Credits while still in high school.

PROGRAM POLICIES

Dropping a course is a significant decision that can impact your academic progress. To drop a course after the open registration period, follow these steps:

  • Obtain an Individual Course Drop Request form from the Concurrent Enrollment Office.
  • Discuss your decision with the course instructor and obtain their signature on the form.
  • Submit the signed form to the Concurrent Enrollment Office. You may request a copy for your records.
  • The Concurrent Enrollment Office will notify the Registrar’s Office of the drop request.

    Students who drop a course before the drop deadline will receive a grade of “W” on their transcript. Refunds will be processed according to the Refund of Fees schedule in the University Catalog.

Withdrawing from the Semester/Term

If you need to withdraw from all courses in a semester, follow these steps:

  • Meet with your high school counselor to discuss your decision and explore alternatives.
  • Submit the Withdrawal Request form to the Concurrent Enrollment Office.
  • The Concurrent Enrollment Office will notify the Registrar’s Office for processing.
  • Students who withdraw from the semester before the published deadline will receive a grade of “W” on their transcript. Refunds will be processed according to the Refund of Fees schedule.
